Jackline Kamazima joined the Democracy Collaborative as an Office Administrator for the D.C. office in September 2017. Prior to she was a Case Manager for the Urban League of Westchester County, Inc. and an Executive Secretary for the New York Tanzanian Community, Inc. (NYTC), where she also served as a board member. She has a Bachelors of Arts in Social Justice Studies from Miami University of Oxford, Ohio.
With her passion for advocacy, community development, and empowering individuals, she volunteers with community and local non-profits and religious organizations. Jackline has done advocacy work in the past with Women Helping Women (WHW) and a few other organizations. She supports a number of Tanzanian community organizations, such as Diaspora Counsel of Tanzanians in America (DICOTA), NYTC, a couple of the Tanzanian community organizations in Columbus, Ohio, and Kagera Association of North America (KANA), just to name a few. She has done mission trips to Tanzania and Haiti. Evolving from her passions and interest she is dedicated to starting a non-profit in the future.
